The Section Officer Seminar (SOS) is hosted every year, were both regions’ OA leadership invite section officers and advisers from their territory to gather. Conducted by the region chief and assisted by current and past national officers and staff, this weekend event is designed as a time for sectional leaders to gather together for fellowship, fun, and training for their positions within the Order. It also gives sitting section chiefs the opportunity to meet one another prior to the December National Planning Meeting. Each region’s seminar is unique, and customs and traditions differ from one to another.

The purpose of the National Planning meeting is to bring the adult leadership of the Order of the Arrow, in the form of the National OA Committee and key volunteers together with the youth leadership of the OA in the form of an assembly of the Section Chiefs. Together the adult leadership assists and guides the youth leadership as they layout plans for the coming year or two, select a theme for the conference or other national event and create working committees. The National Planning Meetings make the plans necessary to stage the next NOAC. One of the other key features and the most anticipated portion of the meeting is the election of youth national officers.

The Section Council of Chiefs is the voting body of the section. It is comprised of the lodge chiefs from the two lodges in G19, as well as the section officers and the immediate past section chief. The Council of Chiefs, or COC, meets normally 4 times per year. The Meeting starts 6pm on Friday Hawaii Time and 1pm on Saturday Japan/Korea Time.
